About the Role - It is a Sydney based assignment that will allow suitable resources to work remotely from Melbourne, Brisbane, WA and Adelaide.

To perform in this role, you will be highly proficient in SQL, and it would be advantageous if you have base SAS experience.

This will be supplemented with the required business skills to succeed (stakeholder mgmt., problem solving and analysis).

What You Will Do

  • Maintain robust knowledge of the data environment(s), providing advice regarding each domain.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, complete the design, development, and testing of components with the goal of providing reliable, stable, and operationally sound data assets that meet business requirements
  • Using the data warehouse and database management software to conduct complex database queries together with reviewing other data sources to identify trends and predict patterns (as applicable to the business problem)
  • Adhere to ETL processes and standards, and contribute to development of best practices involving but not limited to code reviews and performance optimisation
  • Evaluate and undertake impact analysis, assess and manage associated risks
  • Ensure data assets are developed with consistent maintainable code which supports risk and compliance management
  • Able to understand conceptual models and translate into logical and physical data models
  • Adhere to team-based standards for tools, techniques, and methods, including security guidelines, alignment to enterprise architecture, adoption of platforms and systems and ensuring that they are applied effectively
  • Consistent use of, and adherence to, operational policies, standards, patterns, tools, and processes to ensure consistent application maintenance and fulfilment of regulatory obligations

Essential Requirements:

  • Prior experience with Banking or Finance Services industry
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Data Analyst
  • Technical expertise working with SQL including Macros, Stored Procedures, Triggers and Functions and work with integrated data marts
  • Integrate and merge multiple data sources/environments.
  • Analysis, problem solving, troubleshooting and consultative skills
  • Experience providing quality review of code and leading quality control initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills using an open, clear, and engaging manner combined with the ability to relate on all levels through the organisation
  • Working and conceptual knowledge of building and maintaining physical and logical data models
  • Tertiary level qualifications in Computer Science or relevant industry recognised certification
  • Teradata SQL
  • Knowledge of SAS (Base/DI)
  • Python/R
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik / Power BI / Tableau
  • Exposure to Big Data technologies including Hadoop, Spark, Hive (AWS/GDP/Azure)
